Anton Julen was a corporal in the Swiss army when he joined his brother Alfons, as well as Alfred Aufdenblatten and Denis Vaucher, in winning a gold medal in the military ski patrol event. Anton was a member of Skiclub Zermatt, and his cousins Oswald and Simon were also Olympians, competing in the 1936 Nordic combined individual and the 1924 50 km cross-country ski respectively.
