Biography

Krissy Wendell played at Park Center High School in Minnesota and then for her homestate University of Minnesota, leading them to NCAA Championships in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 she won the Patty Kazmaier Award as the nation’s top female hockey player. She was a three-time All-American and twice Player-of-the-Year in the Western College Hockey Association. In 1994 Wendell was the first girl to start in the Little League World Series. She married former U Minnesota hockey player Johnny Pohl, who has played a few years with the Toronto Maple Leafs, in the American Hockey League, and more recently in Europe. In 2004 Wendell-Pohl was named to the Little League Hall of Excellence.
