Biography

Jochem Bobeldijk, a multiple Dutch champion, was an expert on the canoeing marathon. He competed in the now defunct 10 km event at both the 1948 and 1952 Olympics, finishing in the midfield both times. Bobeldijk also played football, playing for local club KFC for some four decades. In daily life, he worked as a milkman, later selling home appliances. He passed away at the age of 90, just two weeks after his wife’s death.
