Nico Delle Karth

Nico Karth was the son of Werner Delle-Karth, a nephew of his brother Walter Jr. and his cousin Dieter (all bobsledders). Nico was also a grandnephew of Walter Delle-Karth, who competed in cross-country skiing at the 1936 Winter Games.

Nico Karth became a four-time Olympic sailor from Athens 2004 to Rio de Janeiro 2016. He competed in the men’s skiff (49er) class with Niko Resch on each occasion and placed an unfortunate fourth in 2012 as their best Olympic result. In 2007 and 2016, the pair enjoyed their biggest sporting moment by winning the silver medals at the World Championships. Their best result at the European Championships was the bronze medal in 2009; in 2008, 2010, and 2011, the pair finished in fourth place. Both were awarded the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria in 2008.
