German pole vaulter Carolin Hingst was an all-round sports person. In her youth she did artistic gymnastics, played tennis, did triathlon, and was a cross-country skier. It was not until the age of 18 that she took up pole vaulting.
Hingst won the German national title in 2004 and 2008, and the indoor title in 2005 and 2010. She collected six more outdoor podiums with two silvers and four bronzes, and two more indoor silvers. At the 2004 Athens Olympics Hingst failed to reach the final, but in 2008 at Beijing she finished sixth. She participated in several European and World Championships with little success.
In 2018, Hingst participated in the first season of Team Ninja Warrior Germany as well as the third season of Ninja Warrior Germany and the first episode of Showdown – The Desert Challenge on the TV channel RTL, finishing the course as the fastest woman.
