Adrian was educated in both primary school and secondary school at Kilkenny CBS, and after his junior cert he moved to St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny. In 2003 he first cleared 7 feet [just over 2.13], the third Irish-born athlete to do so. Adrian O’Dwyer won two Irish outdoor high jump titles (2002-03), two Irish indoor high jump titles (2003-04), and also won the Hungarian indoor title in 2004. O’Dwyer placed eighth in the high jump at the 2004 World Indoor Championships held in Budapest. He later became a fitness instructor in a gym at the Hebron Industrial Estate, in Kilkenny which he runs with “Ireland’s Strongest Man” James Fennelly.
