Biography

Monica Roșu started gymnastics at the age of four and won her first international medals with two bronzes on vault and floor at the 2002 European Junior Championships. The next year she was on the silver medal winning team at the 2003 World Championships. In 2004 she started the Olympic year with two gold medals at the European Championships when she won on vault and with the team. A few months later she won Olympic gold in the same two events. After an injury in 2005 she missed the World Championships that year and retired soon after. Since then Roșu tried to gain a foothold in television, but also studied sport management in Bucureşti.
