Biography

Richard Moran attended Boston Tech High School and paddled for the Samoset Canoe Club. He was US Champion in K-1 1,000 in 1952. Moran competed at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics in the C-2 1,000, with George Byers in 1956 and Arnold Demos in 1960. He and Byers won the 1956 Olympic Trials in the C-2 1,000 and placed second in C-2 10K. Moran worked as a welder for many years.
