Biography

Charlotte Bredahl grew up in Denmark, where she started riding at age nine. When she was 20 she came to the US on her own, and soon became manager of the Bell Canyon Equestrian Center in Southern California. In 1983 she began training horses and riders independently. Bredahl competed in dressage for the US at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the team event.

Bredahl later became a judge, obtaining her FEI “D” credential, which allowed her to judge CDI (Concours Dressage International) competitions. She also engaged in several types of equestrian discipline, including jumping, driving trotters, and reining. Bredahl married Joel Baker, a polo player and financial planner, and the two trained horses at the Circle JB Polo Ranch north of Santa Barbara.
