Biography

Mara DePuy was an eventer who finished sixth in the individual competition at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. DePuy also won a bronze medal in team eventing at the 1995 Pan American Games, and later competed at the 2007 Pan Ams in the individual event. She grew up in a small town in Vermont, where she learned to ride at Huntington Farm in South Strafford, Vermont. She later settled in Virginia, about 50 miles northwest of Washington, DC, where she ran Mara DePuy Eventing, where she trained horses and taught riders, although she continued competing through at least 2018.
