Jill Henneberg won a silver medal in team eventing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. One of her early trainers was Bruce Davidson, a multiple US Olympian in eventing. Henneberg rode at Rolex in 1993, finishing second in the advanced horse trials. That year she was named the top young rider at the Fair Hill CCI. In 1994 she moved up to compete at the Rolex Kentucky CCI*, placing eighth. She was considered for the USA teams at the 1994 World Equestrian Games and the 1995 Pan American Games, but a fractured splint bone in her mare, Nirvana, kept her out of competition after the Rolex event.
After coming back to competition and the 1996 Olympics, Henneberg and Nirvana looked towards the 1997 Badminton CCI**, but an injury to a tendon early in 1997 forced her to retire Nirvana, who she later bred. Henneberg continued competing on a new horse, Simon Sez, and placed 12th at the 1999 Fair Hill CCI*. She later settled in Florida where she trained at Ten Oak Farm in Tallahassee.
