Biography

Equestrian Wolfgang Brinkmann was on the West German show jumping team that won the gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. In the individual event, he was eliminated in the first round.

Together with his brother Klaus, Wolfgang ran the textile company Bugatti Holding Brinkmann GmbH & Co. KG, one of the largest German men’s fashion manufacturers, founded by their father Friedrich Wilhelm Brinkmann. After the death of his father in 1994 Wolfgang ran a breeding stable. The entrepreneur built up equestrian accessories companies Pikeur and Eskadron, became a breeder of high-class show jumping horses, and trained his two sons Torsten and Markus.
