Biography

Count Herman d’Oultremont was a Belgian officer and rider, who competed successfully in numerous international jumping tournaments between 1912 and 1930. His greatest success was the silver medal in team jumping at the 1920 Olympics. D’Oultremont, a cavalry major, was killed in action during World War II. He was posthumously given the Order of Léopold II. His father, Count Adrien d’Oultremont was Lieutenant-General of the Civil Guard and Member of Parliament.
