Biography

At the Olympics, Pierre Durand competed in both eventing and show jumping, over a period of 12 years. Durand was 1962 World Military Champion in eventing.

Durand was a career military officer, retiring as a General, after which he became director of the French National Riding School from 1984-88.

There is no relation to Pierre Durand who competed at two Olympic Games, winning a gold medal in individual jumping at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
