Biography

Amilcare Rotta was a sportsman who competed in multiple disciplines. He was a boxer, rower and fencer but had his greatest moments as a competitor in bobsleigh where he was part of an Italian championship winning crew.

After his active sporting career ended, he became President of the Italian Bobsleigh Federation between 1952 and 1960 and then had a 20-year spell as President of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation until poor health forced his retirement in 1980.
