Biography

Wouter Huibregtsen served as the President of the Netherlands National Olympic Committee from 1990 to 1998. After graduation Huibregtsen joined the Dutch Navy where he worked as an engineer and worked on the design of submarines. He later worked for United Machine Factories Stork-Werkspoor supervising the construction of naval frigates. For the next 30 years Huibregtsen worked for the consultancy firm McKinsey & Company.

Huibregtsen worked as a director for the Dutch Olympic Committee, becoming the chair of the organisation in 1990. By 1993 the organisation had merged with the Dutch Sports Federation to form the NOC*NSF. In 1997 Huibregtsen became a board member of the European Olympic Committee.
