Biography

Peruvian sports administrator Luis Woolcott Atard served in several high-profile roles during his career. Atard served two separate spells as the President of the Peruvian Golf Federation, the first from 1973 to 1975, followed by a second stint from 1985 to 1988. In 1989 he was elected as the President of the National Olympic Committee of Peru, serving in the role until 1997. In 2013 he helped to facilitate Lima’s bid to host the Pan American Games in 2015. Although Lima lost out to Toronto, the city ultimately was chosen as the host of the following edition of the Games in 2019.
