Biography

Bernard Lapasset was a French rugby administrator who served as the chairman of World Rugby, the President of the French Federation of Rugby Union, and the vice-chair of the National Olympic Committee. Lapasset was instrumental in France hosting the 2007 Rugby World Cup and the introduction of rugby sevens to the Olympic programme for the 2016 Rio Games. He later worked in the role of co-chairman on the organizing committee for the 2024 Paris Olympics and was awarded with the Olympic Order in Silver in 2022.
