New Zealand cyclist Rebecca Bailey won back-to-back road race titles at the national championships in 1993 and 1994. That same year Bailey was selected to compete at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, placing ninth in the road race, along with fourth in team time trial. In 1996 she made it onto the New Zealand Olympic team, finishing 33rd in the main peloton in the road race at the Atlanta Games. Bailey continued to be part of the national cycling team for a few more years, returning to the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in 1998, where she once again competed in the road race.
