Biography

Luis Barruffa was a Uruguayan track cyclist from Montevideo. Barruffa competed in the pure speed event at the 1965 American Cycling Championships in Santiago where he finished in third place behind Roger Gibbon and Mario Vanegas. In 1968 he was one of five cyclists selected to represent Uruguay at the Mexico City Olympics. While the other four cyclists participated in the team time trial on the road, Barruffa competed in the 1,000 metres time trial on the track, where he finished in 13th place out of the 32 riders.
