Biography

A catcher, Gilliam Boxx played softball at U Cal Berkeley from 1992-95, where she was a three-time first-team All-American. Boxx played on the USA team that won the 1994 and 1998 World Championships as well as the gold-medal winning 1996 Olympic team. She also won golds at the 1994 Pan American Games qualifier and the 1997 Super Ball Classic. She is the older sister of Shannon Boxx, who played for many years with the US Women’s National Soccer Team. Gillian Boxx later became a softball coach, initially at Notre Dame and then at her alma mater. However, she then became a firefighter in the San Francisco Bay Area.
