Biography

Jean Brun first became known in Swiss cycling circles when he won the junior race at the 1947 Zurich Championship. In 1948 he won the amateur division of that race before competing at the Olympics in the road race, also winning multiple criterium races and track races that year. In May 1949 Brun turned professional, competing in the pro peloton thru 1955 with the Cilo team. He was a useful professional rider, winning many criteriums and some stages in stage races and continuing to compete on the track. His major victories as a professional were the 1951 Zurich Championship, and stage victories at the 1949 and 1950 Tour de Romandie.
