Gilles Durand

Canadian cyclist Gilles Durand began his career by becoming the national junior time trial champion in 1969. Durand had a strong local record, winning the Québec road race title on three occasions (1970–71, 1974), and the Québec-La Malbaie race twice (1972, 1975). As a track rider he competed in the Montréal Six Days in 1976 and the national championships in both 1971 and 1973.

Durand represented Canada at two Olympics, competing in the road race at the 1972 München and 1976 Montréal Games. He also participated in the road race at the 1971 Pan American Games in Cali and at the 1974 World Championships in Montréal.
