Biography

Toussaint Fouda took up cycling at the age of 15, as a student at Collège Technique et Industriel in Yaoundé. Within four years, he had joined the Cameroon national team. The height of his international career came in 1980, when he took part in both the World Military Championships and the Moscow Olympics. In the latter, he placed 22nd in the 100 km time trial, alongside Charles Bana, Joseph Kono, and Nicolas Owona. He had competed previously at the World Military Championships in 1978, and later took part in the 1987 All-Africa Games. He did not attend the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics due to his criticism of the treatment of athletes by the national team. Domestically, he reached the peak of his career in 1985, when he was the overall national champion. He retired in 1990 and took up coaching and administrative roles in the sport, culminating in his appointment as deputy national technical director in 2010.
