Biography

Alan Grindal was an Australian road cyclist who was active during the early 1960s. In 1960 Grindal finished 67th in the individual road race at the Roma Olympics. One year later he won the inaugural edition of the Grafton to Inverell Classic in New South Wales, as well as the Tour of the North in Tasmania. For his achievements he was named as the Australian cyclist of the year and was awarded with the Sir Hubert Opperman Trophy. In 2015 Grindal was made a life member of Cycling Australia.
