Biography

David Humphreys was a road cyclist who competed in the road race at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He graduated from North Sydney Technical High School, where he participated in a variety of sports, including gymnastics, rugby union, basketball, and swimming. At age 15 he was juvenile road champion of the Northern Suburbs’ Cycling Club, and the next year won the State Junior Road Race. Humphreys was a member of the state road racing team, representing New South Wales from 1954-64. He incorporated rowing in his off-road training, representing the Mosman Rowing Club.
