Biography

Parma’s Gino Lori is a former Italian road cyclist. After numerous victories as a youth, in the last two years in which Lori competed in the amateur category, he won Milano-Bologna in 1975 with the team G.S. Pacam and in 1976 moved to G.S. Termolan, with whom he won Milano-Rapallo, Tour of the Due Provincie, and the Mobile Cup in Ponsacco.

At 20, Lori was chosen by coach Edy Gregori for the Montréal Olympic Games where he competed only in the team time trial, finishing 11th. Lori turned pro shortly thereafter, but competed in the pro peloton for only two years (1977-78), riding for the Scic team but with no victories, where the captains were Giovan Battista Baronchelli and Giuseppe Saronni.
