Danish cyclist Jørn Lund was a time trial specialist, enjoying success in the discipline during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1969 the Danish quartet of Lund, Mogens Frey, Jørgen Hansen, and Leif Mortensen won silver in the team time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Zolder, Belgium.
In 1972 Lund finished second in the individual time trial at the Danish Championships and third in the team time trial at the Nordic Championships to earn himself a place on the Olympic team. At the München Games he finished 11th with his compatriots in the team time trial. After some consistent results at the Danish Championships, including becoming a national champion in the team pursuit in 1974, Lund returned to the Olympics in 1976 in Montréal where he, Jørgen Hansen, Verner Blaudzun, and Gert Frank won bronze in the team time trial.
