Biography

German table tennis player Jürgen Rebel partnered Georg Böhm in the men’s doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, but they were eliminated in the group stage. In 1982 and 1985 Rebel won his only German national titles, in the mixed event with non-Olympian Susanne Wenzel. In 1989 Rebel won the German team championships with ATSV Saarbrücken. He won 40 international caps. At club level, Rebel played with DJK Ober-Roden (until 1976), TTC Heusenstamm (1976-83), TTC Grenzau (1983-86), ATSV Saarbrücken (1986-89), TSV Heilbronn-Sontheim (1989-94), TTC Frickenhausen (1994-96), SV Plüdersheim (1996-97), and again TSV Sontheim (from 1997).
