Biography

David Mulica specialized in pursuit racing, competing in the team pursuit at the 1972 Olympics, and winning a bronze medal in team pursuit at the 1971 Pan American Games. He attended Cal State Northridge where he studied exercise physiology, which brought him an interest in pathophysiology and medicine. Mulica then went to medical school in Guadalajara, before doing an internship at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. His residency was in physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry) at the University of Colorado. Mulica later joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Colorado, specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation of spinal cord injury patients.
