Biography

In 1928 Swedish cyclist Hjalmar Pettersson finished second at the Mälaren Runt one-day race to earn himself a place on the Olympic team. At the Amsterdam Games, Pettersson finished 32nd in the individual road race, helping Sweden to win bronze in the combined team event. In 1930 he became the national road champion in the team time trial and finished first in the team track rankings at the Nordic Championships in Denmark. Pettersson was 96-years-old when he died in August 2003.
