Biography

Road cyclist Erwin Tischler was a member of the West German 100 km time trial team that finished 20th at the 1972 München Olympics. In the individual road race, Tischler finished 22nd. The same year he won the Berlin stage race, but never won a West German national title. In 1973 he turned professional, until 1975 when he retired at just 25 years of age. He was later employed by a car rental company.
