Biography

In 1964 Belgian cyclist Roland Van De Rijse won bronze in the team time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in France. One month later, Van De Rijse rode in the same event and the team pursuit at the Tokyo Olympics, finishing 13th in the former. One year later he turned professional, riding in the Tour de France. Van De Rijse continued to compete in road races for the rest of the decade, including two starts at both the Vuelta a España and the Giro d’Italia.
