Biography

Nico van Gageldonk was a Dutch cyclist who was active during the 1930s. In 1936 Van Gageldonk competed in the road race at the Berlin Olympics where he was in the main peloton of more than 20 riders who tied for 16th place, just three seconds behind the winning time. One year after the Olympics he turned professional, but without any success. He later worked as a coach for several amateur teams, along with organising local cycling races.
