René van Hove was a Dutch cyclist who was active in the late 1930s. In 1936 Van Hove competed in the road race at the Berlin Olympics and finished the course, but his time was not recorded. One year after the Olympics he finished second on the opening stage of the Tour of Belgium. Van Hove record another second place finish in 1938 when he was the runner-up at the one-day race Omloop der Vlaamse Gewesten. He continued to race for the next couple of years, including at the classics such as Gent–Wevelgem and Paris–Roubaix, before retiring in the early 1940s.
