Biography

Swedish amateur cyclist Olle Wänlund competed in races after the end of World War II. In 1946 Wänlund finished first in the team rankings at the Nordic Championships and third at the Swedish national road race. His best performance came two years later when he came third in the amateur road race at the 1948 UCI World Championships in Valkenburg, Netherlands. This earned him a place at the Olympics where he came fifth in the team road race event. Wänlund continued to race for a couple more years, finishing second in the individual time trial and third in the road race at the 1950 Swedish national championships.
