Biography

Austrian cyclist Karl Wölfl took part in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He was a member of the 4,000 metres pursuit team that lost to Germany in their heat. Wölfl rode with Wiener (Vienna) SC.

After the Austrian “Anschluss” Wölfl was forced to represent Nazi Germany and came second at the 1941 German Championships in the tandem and the sprint events. After World War II Wölfl won two Asutrian tandem titles, with Hans Goldschmid in 1946, and with Walter Freitag the following year.
