Biography

Christ-Noël Yarafa was a Central African cyclist who competed in the road race and the team time trial at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Yarafa did not finish the road race but helped Central Africa to a 29th-place finish in the team time trial. This was the only time the nation had cyclists compete at the Olympics (through 2020).

Yarafa later became the leader of the cycling federation in his home country, and it was said he almost single-handedly kept the sport alive amid all the violence in the country, coaching and inspiring many young cyclists in Central Africa.
