Biography
Austrian field hockey half-back Josef Schimmer participated at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. The team lost in the quarter-final 4-0 to the eventual gold medallists India, and were classified fifth. Domestically, Schimmer lived in Wien (Vienna) and played for a local club.
