Biography

Meade Yates represented the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Illinois. At the 1904 Olympics, he failed to qualify for match play, shooting 213 for 36 holes. In qualifying for the consolation flights he improved with a 95. Yates lost in round one of the second consolation flight. In 1908 he played in the Central Illinois Amateur and tied for the qualifying medal, only to lose a play-off to Elliott Callender, who went on to be runner-up in the tournament.
