Biography

Elke Drüll and the West German female field hockey team won the silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics round-robin tournament, finishing with six points. She was also both the European Indoor Champion and World Champion in 1981, and won the bronze medal at the 1984 Europeans. Drüll won 61 international caps (including nine indoor) between 1979-84.

Domestically, Drüll played with Schwarz-Weiß Neuss, Club Raffelberg Duisburg, Kölner HTC Blau-Weiß and again with Neuss. She later led the office for field hockey at her home club Schwarz-Weiß Neuss. Her daughter Annika Sprink also became a field hockey player, and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
