The German field hockey team won the silver medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics after losing 8-1 to India in the final. Half-back Heinz Raack played only in the 6-0 win over Denmark in the group stage. Between 1935-42 he 15 international caps. At the club level he played for Berliner SC and won the German Championship in 1937 and 1938.
