Biography

Ulrich Sloma played at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic hockey (field) tournament with West Germany, losing the bronze medal match against India, 2-1. East and West Germany played their only international match in a preliminary round, with West Germany winning 3-2. He was capped 23 times between 1962 and 1969. Domestically Sloma played with HTC Uhlenhorst Mülheim, and helped them win West German national titles in 1960 and 1964. His son Christian also became a hockey player.
