Biography

Jagdev Singh Rai was a hockey defender who played for India at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Domestically he played for Indian Railway and the Punjab Police. Singh Rai also played internationally at the Asian Cup, Asian Games, and the Champions Trophy. As a junior he played with India Juniors at the 1990 Indira Gandhi Gold Cup and helped them win that title. His hockey career ended prematurely due to knee injuries. His father had been a solid hockey player with Indian Nacy. Singh Rai’s career was as a deputy superintendent of police.
