Biography

Beth Beglin was a three-sport athlete at West Chester State College, graduating in 1979 with a degree in health and physical education. Beglin competed in hockey (field) for the United States at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 1984. She later coached hockey at West Chester State, but in 1987 went to the University of Iowa as an assistant coach. In 1988 he was named head coach at the University of Iowa, coaching there through 1999. During that time she led her teams to the Final Four six times and the championship game in 1988 and 1992.

Beglin then changed course and attended law school at Iowa, earning her law degree in 2004 and passing the bar in 2005. She later became a prosecutor at the Johnson County’s attorney’s office. Beglin was inducted into the Iowa Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.
