Biography

Steve Jennings, a graduate of the University of Maryland, played hockey (field) for the US at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games. He later became well known as a hockey coach, starting at American University in 1998 and coaching there through 2018. Jennings also coached on the national level, helping the US women win a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. He was a coach for the US women’s team at the 2008 and 2016 Olympics. In 2012-13 he also spent time as head coach of the US men’s junior team. Jennings is a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Fame and an honorary member of the US Field Hockey Hall of Fame.
