Biography

E. J. Morton started fencing in the latter part of the 1920s. Although he was still competing at the time of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he did not compete, but was a judge instead, officiating in two team foil contests. Morton was an England international, and took part in the narrow win over Scotland at Edinburgh in 1933. He was scheduled to take part in the 1939 World Championships at Merano, Italy, but the championships were cancelled due to World War II breaking out.

Having been involved in the Berlin Olympics, Morton was involved in the Games once more in 1952 when he was the assistant team manager to the 1952 Great Britain fencing squad. Morton was at one time the secretary of the London Fencing Club.
