Biography

Roberto Frómeta was a Cuban football defender who played for Santiago de Cuba and La Habana, winning the national title with the latter club in 1984. Frómeta also represented the national team in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He played in qualification matches for the 1978 FIFA World Cup, with him then winning silver in the football tournament at the 1979 Pan American Games. The following year he was part of Cuba’s squad at the 1980 Moskva Olympics where the team finished fifth.
