Biography

Danish footballer Poul Jensen spent his entire club career playing for Vejle Boldklub, making more than 200 appearances for the side from 1953 to 1964. In 1958 Jensen was part of the team that helped the club to win the Danish League and Cup to become the first team in Denmark to win that double. He captained the team in 1959 as they won the league for the second time.

Also in 1959 Jensen made his début for the Danish national team in a match against Iceland. His international career lasted until 1962 where he played in 32 matches, including 21 as the team captain. Jensen played for Denmark in the football tournament at the 1960 Roma Olympics, with the team winning the silver medal after losing 3–1 to Yugoslavia in the final.
