Biography

Sergio Méndez played football for El Salvador at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. He also represented his country at the 1970 World Cup, and at the 1965 CONCACAF Championship. Méndez played for CD Áquila from 1964-70 and for CD Atlético Marte from 1971-76.

Méndez died in a car accident at only 33-years-old. At the time of his death he was studying for a law degree, while also teaching political and law science at a private university.
